Publish Your Mini e-book in Sweek.com to Celebrate the Upcoming World Asteroid Day! Get Famous!

Hi! Welcome to WRIPE-6, the 6^th WRIting ProjEct organized by Sweek’s former Brand Ambassador ChinthakaNanayakkara for World Asteroid Day Celebrations! Participating in this project will make you a well recognized mini e-book author in the Sweek community, will bring you a heap of Likes, Follows and Comments to your book, and if you are really lucky, your book will be featured in promo videos and personal blog posts made by Chinthaka Nanayakkara himself!    

Okay, no time wasting. WRIPE-6 will reach its culmination on 30^th June 2020. Only very limited time available for you to write your 600 word mini e-book, get it edited, win your book cover, upload it to Sweek and actively start becoming popular in the online literary world:) The promoting of your book is not done by you:) It is personally handled by Chinthaka Nanayakkara!

So here are the steps!

STEP-1

Drop a simple ‘count me in’ message to writesupp@gmail.com which is the personal email address of Chinthaka Nanayakkara. This would help him to keep in touch with you without waiting for you to log into Sweek. The website is currently undergoing several improvements so at certain times you would not be able to log in. The success of WRIPEs largely depend on the around the clock availability of its participants. If they remain silent WRIPES fail:(  Contact Chinthaka Nanayakkara through his email now and ensure your availability anytime anywhere!

STEP-2

If Chinthaka Nanayakkara is satisfied about your writing skills in Sweek, he will share a word document with you through Google Drive. In this word document you will be given the writing prompt. You only reach 600 words and then you are done!

STEP-3

Chinthaka Nanayakkara will send you an ‘OK to publish’ message with an attractive book cover!

If he is really satisfied with your work he will also forward you Asteroid Day Logos that were made available for him by United Nations for his WRIPE-4 in 2018. You can become real Asteroid Day Followers by using these logos as your profile picture in Sweek! If you are really into it, you can use these for your other social media platforms as well; Facebook, Twitter, etc.

This is just a sample you can use if you are interested:) However these 2018 logos will be outdated when United Nations release the new logos for 30^th June 2020 Asteroid Day celebrations :)

STEP-4

Now let’s publish your story approved by Chinthaka Nanayakkara. Log onto Sweek and tap on ‘Start your own Story’

You will see the following screen:) This is where you start creating your mini e-book for World Asteroid Day 2020 :) 

In the Story Title you type: ‘If an Asteroid Falls on ….”  In the blanks you include the name of your city. E.g. ‘If an Asteroid Falls on Colombo’

In the Short Description very briefly describe your city. Use Wikipedia and Google to obtain facts about your city:) It is great if you can describe the extent of damage that can cause to your city by an asteroid. But space is limited :( 

Just type "I am <<your author name>> from <<your city and country>>. This is my entry to the 6th Writing Project (WRIPE-6) organized by Chinthaka Nanayakkara"

Then tap next. You will see the following :) You have completed the basics!

Go to Add New Chapter. You are going to copy paste the content that was approved by Chinthaka Nanayakkara through google Drive! 

Your chapter name is “…. narrates” with your name in the blank. The reader should get the idea that you are the one who is telling this story:)

Then you can start writing (or just copy paste)! 

Following is how it would like after you write your first chapter :) This is also what Chinthaka Nanayakkara assigned to you through Google Drive :)

Tap Publish!

Now hold on! Your undivided attention needed! The following information you are going to give is very important! These include the key facts about your story that would help your future readers to locate your story in Sweek – take note! Worldwide! 

Tap Category 1 and select ‘Thriller and Horror’

Tap Category 2 and select ‘Action and Adventure’

Now you have to insert tags. It is a tricky task. For the moment enter only one tag. It is just ‘Asteroid2020’ as ONE WORD and then you press enter. You can enter maximum of 10 tags. But for the moment one tag is enough. Because Chinthaka Nanayakkara will be informing the Sweek community to find Asteroid Day stories by typing the word ‘Asteroid2020’ in the Sweek's search bar. If you insert any other words as tags your mini e-book might not be displayed on the top of the search result :( 

Type Asteroid2020 as one word and press enter :) 

Select the story status as 'completed'.

Hit publish! You are done! It is party time! Share your story among your online friends and get famous! Chinthaka Nanayakkara will be by your side, taking you forward!
