UN-Water Registers WRIPE – 5 as an Event in Their Official Website for World Water Day

It is with pleasure I take this opportunity to inform my dear fellow writers of WRIPE-5 (and of course, all other aspiring writers around the world waiting to join me with their 500 word drafts) that United Nations Water has taken the ‘much awaited’ decision of registering WRIPE-5 as an event for the World Water Day 2019.

WRIPE-5 is the 5th Writing Project I have organized since the debut of the concept in early 2018. Each WRIPE is aligned to a key UN initiative that addresses a particular threat that may challenge the existence of mankind. In this instance it is about a future water crisis in our world.

My heartfelt thanks go to Ms. Anna Nylander Norén - Digital & Community Specialist of UN-Water in Geneva, Switzerland who rendered me great support in considering my application and registering the event.

In fact, it was she who first reminded me about the World Water Day 2019 with its theme of ‘water for all – leave no one behind’ through her most cordial email which she sent me on 28th December 2018. Thanks madam. Your thoughtfulness, kindness and cooperation will be forever remembered!

My special thanks to Mr. Jeray Soria D'Andrea in Murcia, Spain for submitting the first entry to WRIPE–5 through Google Docs. His 500 word draft entry met WRIPE-5 requirements ideally and his mini e-book was published in Wattpad within a couple of days.

As a token of appreciation I adorned the UN registered event page of WRIPE-5, with the attractive book cover I made for him. These splendid book covers would not have been possible if not for the amazing tools available from Canva and Pixabay.

Lots of writers are contacting me to clarify the objective of a WRIPE. It is simple. Any WRIPE has two objectives. One is to raise an in-depth awareness among the international community on key UN initiatives. Second is to support aspiring writers around the world to earn recognition in the today’s literary arena. Nice and clear, huh?

More later!
